Spotlight on Black History"A.L. Lewis: Visionary of American Beach"In the 1930s, Abraham Lincoln Lewis, Florida's first Black millionaire and President of the Afro-American Life Insurance Company, saw the need for African Americans to have a safe and beautiful beach to call their own. His vision led to the development of American Beach on Amelia Island, a haven during segregation that has remained a symbol of pride, community, and resilience. His legacy lives on through every tour we give and every story we share.

This Month's Featured Tour"The American Beach Experience"Walk in the footsteps of giants. Explore the history of American Beach from its founding to the civil rights movement. Learn about the role of The Negro Motorist Green Book, the Gullah/Geechee culture, and hear personal stories from our guide, Ron Miller, who grew up visiting this historic shoreline.
