@ Coast One Tours LLC, our journey is rooted in purpose: educating, preserving, and sharing the rich Black history of American Beach, Amelia Island, and Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Founded in October 2019 by Ron and Avis Miller, Coast One Tours was created with a clear mission: to educate and share the history of how and why American Beach was founded and to continue the legacy of its founders for generations to come.

American Beach, listed in Victor H. Green’s The Negro Motorist Green Book, stands as a powerful symbol of Black resilience, entrepreneurship, and freedom during segregation. Just miles away, Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island hold equally significant stories—of enslaved Africans, freedmen communities, Gullah Geechee influence, Black business owners, educators, faith leaders, and civil rights contributors whose impact shaped the region.

Having grown up visiting American Beach and studying the history of these communities, Ron Miller brings lived experience, research, and personal storytelling to every tour. Our experiences go beyond dates and facts—they connect guests to the people, places, and legacy that helped shape Northeast Florida.
